Blue Eyed Mustang

This picture by Traer Scott shows a blue-eyed Mustang stallion named “Diamonte Cruz”, a magnificent Spanish Barb from the “Willbur-Cruz Spanish Colonial Mission Herd” formerly stationed in Mexico, at the “Return to Freedom Sanctuary” in California (2007).

These Spanish Barber horses are the direct descendants of the original horses that were transported from Spain to the United States at the end of the 17th century. The image conveys an unusual intensity through the chosen crop of the profile of its head and the piercing gaze of its eye through the blue-tinted pupil.
